PDQ Benchmarking is designed to integrate with industry MIS and ERP platforms, along with other API-based systems, such as those used by online printers and print managers.
The service is aimed at the entire print value chain, including printers, print resellers, industry consultants, print buyers and end-consumers of print.
PDQ Benchmarking provides access to a wealth of commercial, manufacturing and environmental data. It delivers a real-time market benchmark price for a requested print specification instantly, along with averages for the top five and top 10 suppliers in the marketplace.
Pricing information is supplemented with manufacturing data showing the ideal production method, paper required, manufacturing time and a guide delivery time. The service also returns three tiers of recommended selling price evaluated by market trends.
Environmental information provided by PDQ Benchmarking includes CO2 emissions that are calculated for paper, production and delivery, along with average total carbon emissions for the top 5 and top 10 suppliers in the market.
To ensure compliance and greater accuracy, the service uses UK government carbon emissions energy conversion tables and machinery manufacturing kWh to underpin the calculation.
The total weight of plastic is also provided for products that are laminated, plastic coated or shrinkwrapped.
John Roche, CEO of Haybrooke: “Imagine as a printer your prices are being squeezed. You can use PDQ Benchmarking to help validate your own price against the market and the production methods used. This will help you understand where your manufacturing strengths and weaknesses are and how to effectively compete for certain products, certain quantities and even certain specifications.
"Or you might be on the journey to Net Zero and wish to know at a glance what the carbon footprint is for a given job to compare with your own; or even use it as a surrogate to offset. The potential value of PDQ Benchmarking is limitless.”
For MIS and ERP providers, the integration of PDQ Benchmarking adds a new layer of functionality to their platforms, providing more value to its user groups. Practically, it means that a printer creating an estimate in its own MIS can ‘push a button’ and pull in live benchmarking data from the open marketplace.
PDQ Benchmarking can help with pricing and other business-critical decision-making. And, with sustainability becoming ever more important in the sector, carbon footprinting and plastic consumption data is becoming increasingly needed.
There is value in PDQ Benchmarking for all businesses.
